The call for abstracts will be open until October 11.
The call for participation in the Challenge will be open until October 16 (notification of scores and winners on October 23).
Candidates can select their preference for an oral or poster presentation. However, oral presentation slots are limited and the abstracts will be selected not only based on scientific merit but also on the ability to attract the interest of a broad audience. One of the oral presentation slots will be reserved for the winner (individual or team) of the Challenge to present the best scoring method.

The Symposium will include 2 poster sessions as part of the program, during which contributors will have the opportunity to introduce and attract attention to their work. In this way, we expect to stimulate lively discussions and exchange of ideas between participants and speakers.

We will be able to fund 10 grants on a competitive basis to cover the registration of graduate students and post-docs willing to present their work at the symposium . To apply for the grants submit an abstract together with a motivation letter.

Authors should follow the abstract layout format provided HERE and submit at the following form:

 

The Challenge Jury is composed by: António Polónia (IPATIMUP), João Sanches (IST) and Paulo Aguiar (INEB). The assessment and scoring of the submissions will be performed in anonymous format: the algorithms by each team will be assessed under codenames without explicit reference to its authors.

The score S of each submitted algorithm is S = (N - 5)/15, where N is the number of correctly classified images in the test dataset (#20).
